The most dangerous problem this breed faces is heart failure. Fortunately, it can be treated successfully, if diagnosed in early days. The sign of such problem is called heart murmur. This breed also suffers from eyes and breathing issues which are connected with its small size of skull.
This breed comes from China. Its history is around two thousand years. The breed was explored by troops of France and Britain during wars with China in 19th century. When this dog appeared in Europe it was Imperial breed as well and poorer people could not afford it.
